Yarmouth Rowing Club is a masters program for adults with prior rowing experience. Our members are former rowers who have come back to the sport for fitness, fresh air, and time on the water—rowing together in an easygoing environment.
New members are welcomed by our Club Ambassadors, who provide a brief orientation and help you get comfortable with our equipment, procedures, and the Cousins River. Once you’re set up, you can sign up for rows that fit your schedule and get right back into the rhythm of being on the water.

Our Location
We row on the scenic Cousins River in Yarmouth, Maine, with direct access to Casco Bay. Our site is located at 123 Even Keel Road, just off Route 1, and is shared with local shellfish growers and our hosts at Sea Meadow.
Our setup includes two boat racks (one for club sweep boats and a quad, and one for small boats), an oar rack, and a dock. The Cousins River is tidal, and rowing is not possible for approximately two hours on either side of low tide.
Each season, our dock, ramp, and float are installed and removed by Custom Float, with equipment stored locally over the winter.
Directions
From I-295, take Exit 17 and head north on Route 1 toward Freeport. Just past the Ford dealership, turn right onto Even Keel Road (a dirt road).
Please drive slowly (10 mph) to minimize dust. Bear left at the fork and continue to the end. As this is a shared, working waterfront, watch for trucks, equipment, and pedestrians.
Parking
Parking is limited and restricted to designated areas only. When possible, consider parking at the nearby Yarmouth Visitor Center Park & Ride and carpooling to the site.
What to Know Before You Arrive
This is a busy, working waterfront—please plan accordingly:
- A porta potty is available on site
- Water is available for rinsing boats, but not for drinking
- Please bring your own water bottle
